Short Film Planning: Plot summaries

From the ideas notes above where our group discussed a variety of possible ideas that could be implemented into the final short film several ideas of plots developed.

One of the first examples of a plot that our group came up with were a teenager not doing any revision, going then going up to the exam date and stressing that they failed; results day would arrive and then the student would realise that they did extremely well. Whilst it suited the audience that we were targeting being in the situation targeted to that of a 15+ audience in terms of trying to educate the audience it might send out the wrong message stating that people do not have to revise in order to do well. So, whilst some areas were not used some could be used in the final short film.

Another example of a plot that our group covered was in terms of causality. Where one person would make a choice where after a split screen would show how the two lives differ due to the action that the person did. This in itself is a good aim for our audience where it could be aimed at a wide array. The purpose of it is also quite wide. As a group we also came up with the way that it could be possible to combine elements of the first plot that we came up with with elements of the second one.

One final plot that we came up with is a sort of different perspectives for two people. What this would mean is that it could be a child's point of view compared to that of a parents such as making a child seeing the good out of a particular situation. Despite this the main issue is that it would be difficult and possibly impractical to use a child. Which is why it developed into a teenager doing graffiti on a wall. This was met again with the fact of finding a wall and possibly ruining property even though the work might be related to the artists art piece. It was also unrealistic in how that would have worked properly such as having to get someone who would be willing to use graffiti and finding an appropriate place to do that.
